Web design pricing
is often confusing. Some designers charge hourly, others by the page,
and still others charge for a complete package. Rates vary widely leaving
you wondering if a higher cost equals higher quality - or you're just
getting screwed.
One reason for
the vast difference in pricing is overhead. Large design firms charge
more because they have to do so to stay ahead. Most won't even consider
doing a small site unless they "specialize" in cookie-cutter
type sites.
Smaller firms and
individual designers like myself have lower overhead and that is reflected
in our prices.
